Family Services

The Family Service of the Equal Opportunity Office has set itself the task of supporting the compatibility of family and career or studies as an important and central concern of the employees and students of Leuphana University.
In this context, family does not only mean the responsibility for raising children, but any living community in which long-term social responsibility is assumed for other persons (such as relatives in need of care). We work according to the principle of recognizing special life situations and contributing to a balance between study/work and private life.

In addition to providing advice, the Family Service continuously supports the realization of a family-friendly university through offers and projects. Our activities are aimed at facilitating studies, career and professional interests, alongside meeting a wide range of private, social, cultural and health demands. Reconciling family and studies, employment or career is also a central element of gender equality within the meaning of gender main-streaming.
