TDACADEMY - PLATFORM FOR TRANSDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH AND STUDIES

The project “tdAcademy – platform for transdisciplinary research and studies” is a joint project of the Center for Technology and Society (ZTG), the Institute for Applied Ecology (Öko-Institut), the Institute for Social-Ecological Research (ISOE), and the Leuphana University Lüneburg. Initially, the project has the following three objectives: First, it aims to consolidate knowledge on central conceptual and methodological issues. The second objective encompasses the expansion of capacity building. The third objective of the platform is to expand and stabilize the td community and increase international visibility. To achieve these goals, the project focuses on three modules and four main issues: In module A, we aim to create an overview for the four main issues societal impact, scientific impact, context dependencies, and new formats of transdisciplinary research. For this we conduct literature reviews, workshops, and interviews, while each of the four institutes mentioned above is responsible for one thematic issue. In module B, we provide capacity-building opportunities (e.g., summers-schools, workshops), especially for early-career researchers. These opportunities will be from other academic institutions and from us. For this, we reach out to other institutes and connect diverse networks relevant for transdisciplinary research. In module C we seek to strengthen the global community of transdisciplinary research. The project tdAcademy can be understood as a concept of knowledge networks, with whose help transdisciplinarity as a research principle can be applied more widely.
