Inhalt: The Psychology of Joint Decision Making in Social Conflicts and Negotiations is a course that provides students with general knowledge of psychological processes in conflict management. In this course, you will explore the major factors underlying people’s behaviors in joint decision making. Why we engage in negotiations? How do our cognition, motivation, and emotion affect our perceptions? How these perceptions drive our behaviors and influence our negotiation outcomes? Why negotiators frequently “leave the money on the table?” Are there any strategies or tactics to improve negotiators’ performance and results? The course will cover empirical research on negotiations and conflict management from a psychological perspective and will reflect on contextual factors that shape negotiations. Negotiation simulations will also be included in the course to provide students with better insights into the influences of psychological factors on their perceptions and decisions.
