Inhalt: Inter- and trans-disciplinary research require specific methodological procedures and methods to support integration, differentiation, triangulation, mixing and modelling of data, knowledge, and perspectives; organize collaboration and communication in heterogeneous teams; as well as documentation, validation and assessment of processes and results. In this seminar you will gain an overview of methods for inter- and trans-disciplinary research and neighbouring approaches such as (participatory) action research and citizen science. You will be provided with a conceptual vocabulary and methodological orientation for boundary-crossing and boundary-spanning research and will get the opportunity to experience interdisciplinary collaboration during the course. If you already conduct inter- or transdisciplinary research you will get the opportunity to discuss your methodological design or specific challenges, for instance of mixing methods and integrating data, framing a problem in an interdisciplinary team or assessing outcomes from scientist and stakeholder perspectives. Further, you will be introduced to different discourses and communities that deal with methodological questions of inter- and transdisciplinarity.
