European Law II (Seminar)

Inhalt: This lecture is designed to deepen the students' understanding about European Law. The focus is on European human rights law, the EU freedoms and environmental law. At the beginning, the meaning, the differences and the interaction between the Council of Europe and the European Union will be explained and discussed. For the most part, the course will deal with European human rights, in particular as provided for by the European Convention on Human Rights of the Council of Europe and the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union. Moreover, the EU freedoms - Free movement of goods, Free movement of capital, the Freedom to establish and provide services, and the Free movement of labour will be discussed. Finally, the course will deal with European environmental law.
