Inhalt: At the beginning of the 21st century, Christianity has become a truly global religion, and scholars are only just beginning to realize the consequences of Christianity's modern transformation from a western to a global faith. This seminar will introduce Christianity as a global religion. Readings and discussion will examine the history and idea of world Christianity, the presumption that Christianity is a 'western religion', as well as some of the beliefs and practices of emerging Christian communities in the Global South/Majority World. Readings and discussion will also deal with how the forces of globalization and migration are challenging churches in Europe with the new ecumenical, i.e. global, reality of Christianity.

Inhalt: Das Seminar ist ein Lektüre-Seminar, in dem sich die Studierenden unter wechselnder Leitung mit dem Verständnis von Pluralität, sowie den Möglichkeiten eben dieser, aus verschiedenen Perspektiven nähern und dieses theologisch reflektieren.
