Inhalt: In this course we will use case studies as a basis for student role-playing in a variety of problematic situations in business. The emphasis goes beyond analysis to performance of the 'solution' to the problem(s) at hand. To this extent we will work on a number of communicative activities, from presenting to discussing to writing reports or policy statements.

The course material will be articles taken from current newspapers and magazines such as “The Financial Times”, “The Wall Street Journal”, “The Economist”, “Newsweek” etc. Students will discuss the articles in class and work on consolidating and increasing their business vocabulary.

Inhalt: Der computerbasierte Quick Placement Test (QPT) dauert ca. 20-30 Minuten und prüft Hör- und Leseverständnis sowie Grammatik- und Wortschatzkenntnisse. Special emphasis will be placed on current trends, tourism’s impact on culture and the environment as well as the consequences of the industry’s growing importance to the economies of both developing and highly developed countries. Inhalt: This course will focus on developing students' intercultural communication skills in professional contexts, e.g. communication styles, decision-making, negotiating, problem-solving as well as managing and motivating multicultural teams.
