An interdisciplinary approach to behaviour change for sustainability (Seminar)

Inhalt: This course sets human psychology and behaviour in its sociological and socio-technical context. The premise is that if we want to encourage and enable pro-sustainability behaviour, we need to understand and address the individual, their social context and the technologies on which they depend in a coherent way. Addressing one dimension without awareness of the implications for, and insights from, the others arguably leads to less effective outcomes. NB there is an emphasis on Energy in this course because that is my specialism. However you are free to present on a behaviour change related paper in relation to other aspects of sustainability - please just agree the paper with me first. In terms of format, I lecture in the first 7 weeks so that you have a basic knowledge of the topic. Then in the second 7 weeks you choose journal papers to present to the class, from a large set that I make available.
