Competences and Standards in the EFL Classroom - Seminar I (Seminar)

Inhalt: Since the publication of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment and its adaptation to the Bildungsstandards, language teachers have started to reconsider task orientated approaches and the role of the four skills as well as mediation in the EFL classroom. In this seminar we will look at definitions of communicative and linguistic competence (competence models like the CEF) and then focus on assessment procedures. The focus will be on both receptive and productive skills. We will also look at educational and political consequences of setting standards.

Inhalt: Im Seminar sollen folgende Fragen thematisiert werden: • Was konstituiert inklusiven Englischunterricht aus fachdidaktischer, sonderpädagogischer/inklusionspädagogischer und unterrichtspraktischer Perspektive? • Wie kann inklusiver Englischunterricht unter Aspekten zielgleicher und zieldifferenter Beschulung gelingen? • Welcher Formen von Differenzierung und Individualisierung bedarf inklusiver Englischunterricht? • Wie kann gemeinsame Unterrichtsplanung im Rahmen multiprofessioneller Teamarbeit zur zu einem Kompetenzzuwachs aller Schülerinnen und Schüler im Fach Englisch führen? Welche Unterrichtsplanungskompetenzen werden von Fach- und Förderlehrkräften benötigt? • Welche Konzepte digitaler Bildung lassen sich zur theoretischen Rahmung des Fremdsprachenunterrichts, zur Unterrichtsentwicklung und zur unterrichtspraktischen Gestaltung eines inklusiven Englischunterrichts heranziehen? Behandelte Themen werden vor allem sein: Introduction to Teaching English in Inclusive Settings, Linguistic Diversity in the EFL Classroom, Dyslexia and EFL Learning, Hearing Impairment in Heterogeneous English Classes, Gender-Sensitive English instruction, Subject-specific disruptions, Co-teaching in Heterogeneous English Instruction, Task-based Language Learning and Inclusion
