Inhalt: This module is very hands-on. The students will undertake excursions which will inspire them to execute their special media projects within their teams in a very creative way, so that they are able to adapt the basic learnings from Practical Experience in Digital Media I respectively the concept/execution/launch from Practical Experience II. Due to the current circumstances, the seminar will be taught online. If offline teaching becomes possible again, we will adjust accordingly. Please make sure to take part in the first online session – which will be an opportunity to discuss and plan the forms and dates of online teaching.

Visual, Fictional and Cinematic Storytelling in Digital Cultures (Projektseminar)

Dozent/in: Lukas Nathrath

Termin:
wöchentlich | Dienstag | 09:45 - 13:15 | 28.04.2020 - 23.06.2020 | HMS
Einzeltermin | Di, 07.07.2020, 09:45 - Di, 07.07.2020, 15:30 | HMS

Inhalt: In this class, we will discuss, examine and try out the different methods to express ideas narratively in film and tell stories visually, and how this relates to the age of digital cultures. What different approaches can we find? What cinematic tools and "film grammar" do you need to analyze and create a scene? We will watch examples of films, trailers and series as well as write, rehearse, pitch, stage, direct and edit small scenes and clips ourselves. These small films should be based on ideas that the students of this class have written about in their term papers and are going to translate into a visual-narrative form. Due to the current circumstances, the seminar will be taught online. If offline teaching becomes possible again, we will adjust accordingly. Please make sure to take part in the first online session – which will be an opportunity to discuss and plan the forms and dates of online teaching.
