Corporate Finance (Vorlesung)

Inhalt: The lecture will examine important aspects of corporate financial decisions. It builds on the basic insights into optimal financial decisions in perfect markets. Different forms of market imperfections will be considered which leads to a deeper understanding of the matter. Problems of asymmetric information and the mechanisms of incentives and signaling that arise from these problems will be given particular attention. The resulting mechanisms of action will be demonstrated in some particularly relevant fields (dividend policy, venture capital, mergers, and corporate governance). This lecture will be accompanied by a tutorial consisting of a varying mix of exercises, case studies, as well as in-depth work with pivotal literary contributions. Literature • The course is not based on a specific textbook. Instead, it is referred to various articles from scientific journals.
