Accelerate! Organizing for Innovation (Seminar)

Inhalt: Innovation is a central driver of competitive advantage and economic growth. Therefore, firms increasingly aim to foster novelty systematically by organizing their innovation processes. However, "organizing" and "innovation" are situated in a paradigmatic tension: Whereas the former builds on continuity, the latter implies change. In this seminar, we will unfold this tension by zooming in on "accelerators" as one form of organizing that aims to foster innovation in a systematic way. Based on a detailed reading and discussion of recent papers published on accelerators, we will reflect on how innovation can be organized, and to what extent such attempts can be successful.
