Inhalt: Climate Change is an universal topic and has impacts on many industries, including the tourism industry. Besides local environmental effects the growth in air traffic causes masses of greenhouse gases. For this reason air traffic is significantly involved in climate change. The other way round, experts agree about the deep impact of climate change on tourism. The “BUND” assumes that climate change will enforce the occurrence and intensity of hurricanes in the Caribbean area e.g. 2004 has already been a record year for hurricanes. Hurricane Ivan is solely responsible for an insured loss of 12 billion $. About 70 people died on the Caribbean islands and in some areas 90 percent of housing has been destroyed. A foretaste of the predicted increase of extreme weather- events was shown in Europe in summer 2003 as well - by heat- waves and serious fires in South- Europe and flooding in England. In present ski- areas snowfall and snow- season will decrease due to the rise of air- temperatures. More precisely the raise of 1 degree will increase the border for snow reliability about 150 metres.
