Inhalt: This course covers approaches in German constitutional law to economic issues. It will introduce the terminology, drafting of constitutions, constitutional interpretation, elements of the state of the Federal Republic of Germany, state goals, functions of the federal government (legislation, administration); supreme federal bodies and the economic constitution as well as basic features of constitutional procedural law (in particular constitutional complaints). The course will also discuss political and social theories of the state and orientation towards the common good as legitimacy for the state and its constitution. The course will focus on fundamental rights relating to economic freedom in the German constitution and companies as bearers of fundamental rights.
