Inhalt: The course offers an in-depth exploration of the topics covered in the Introduction to Political Sociology and Political Culture course. It is important for sociology and political science students to understand the main current trends in research in political sociology. The focus of the course shifts from the study of basic concepts of political sociology and the history of theoretical approaches to contemporary theoretical and empirical research. As in the introductory course, the course focuses on individual political attitudes and behaviour, collective action, how individuals and groups manifest political behaviour and influence politics at different levels. Much of the course focuses on inequality, access to resources, resource allocation and redistribution, decision-making mechanisms, how the social environment, class structure and inequality influence the political agenda and the demand for a welfare state.
