A fruitful visit
While there, Matthias also delivered a guest lecture to master’s students at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense on “Foresight and Future-making.” Drawing on current scholarship and practice, he introduced core concepts and tools for future-making that broaden the lens for understanding ways of engaging wit the future. The session included examples from the military context.
In a subsequent research seminar, Matthias discussed an ongoing project on future-making in the German armed forces. The conversation focused on how military bureaucracies strategize for grand challenges facing temporal uncertainty.
