Formats

The conference week reinvents itself every year. This is due to the protagonists of the conference - the students in the Leuphana semester: they are the ones who play the programmatic role in the project group sessions, seminar plenaries and the Gallery Walk. And they pick up the ideas passed to them by guests and lecturers in the arenas and workshops. Under the title "Resilient Democracy", together they are looking for sustainable rules of the game.

The formats define the roles and perspectives of the conference participants. For the students, they are a test under real conditions, not simulated ones. The conference invites students to take part in practical and exciting formats in order to take their coursework and examinations. Students choose their individual conference program from these formats.

ARENA
The arenas set out for more sustainability in front of a large audience. They are the setting for the major lectures and panel discussions. Renowned guests from all over the country share their thoughts.

PROJECT GROUP SESSION
Four project groups from two seminars will exchange ideas about their steps into the terrain of responsible science: In each session, they have half an hour to present their semester results to each other in turn. A session has 180 minutes - time to learn from each other and to survey research paths. The seminar leader will take the oral examination of the young researchers. Interested members of the audience are very welcome.

GALLERY WALK
The gallery walk is the lifeline of the conference. Student project groups invite you to interview them. As an interactive meeting point, the Gallery Walk addresses spontaneous audiences and guided tours. Using films, installations and posters, the young researchers will present their results and give the oral examination.

SEMINAR PLENARY
When a seminar meets as a whole to search for responsible solutions for 120 minutes, it is under the roof of the seminar plenaries. They bring together the individual views and place them in the context of the project seminar. As part of the course work, they aim to engage all participants in a scientific conversation with each other - with and without an audience.
