Leuphana Ensembles: End-of-Semester Concert 2025
08. Jul
The Leuphana Music Centre cordially invites you to the 2025 end-of-semester concert in the Libeskind Auditorium in the central building of Leuphana University Lüneburg, presenting an evening of musical diversity and creativity with the university's five ensembles.
On 8 July 2025 at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7:00 p.m.), the Leuphana ensembles will present a varied programme on the stage of the auditorium. From a thrilling musical repertoire – including works by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul – to classical compositions by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Sally Whitwell, to rousing jazz by Sammy Nestico and Bob Mintzer, and pop hits by Taylor Swift, there is something for every taste. Tickets for the concert can be conveniently purchased in advance online at eveeno.
The end-of-semester concert offers students and staff at Leuphana University a stage to present their musical work from the semester. In the five ensembles – the Leuphana Orchestra, the Leuphana Camerata, the Leuphana Big Band, the Leuphana University Choir and the Leuphana Chamber Choir – around 200 members rehearse a wide repertoire during weekly rehearsals. The concert is the highlight of their musical work and showcases a cross-section of the pieces they have worked on during the semester.
The Music Centre, under the direction of Rebecca Lang, follows the philosophy that music has the power to transport people out of their everyday lives and into other worlds – both as musicians and as listeners. This is aptly expressed by the French composer, pianist and conductor Nadia Boulanger:
‘Nothing is better than music, when it takes us out of time, it has done more for us than we have the right to hope for.’
This idea not only shapes the ensemble's rehearsals, but also the atmosphere of the concerts, which transport the audience out of their everyday lives and into another world.
The Music Centre at Leuphana University offers students and staff the opportunity to discover, cultivate and develop their passion for music alongside their academic studies. This service is based on voluntary commitment and promotes personal well-being. In addition to the Artists Booking Service, the chamber music programme and a wide range of instrumental lessons, the five ensembles invite students to develop their musical talents, regardless of their field of study or professional background, and to make music together.
