Workshop: Bifurcation Operation: Forking Modernity

27. Nov - 29. Nov

27. Nov - 29. Nov | Leuphana University, Lüneburg I Central Building, C40.704

Bifurcation Operation: Forking Modernity is an international workshop by the "The Disruptive Condition" Research Initiative on the many meanings of bifurcation — from systems theory, posthumanism, the philosophy of technology and process philosophy. With a keynote by Didier Debaise, it brings together today's leading writers on Bernard Stiegler, Isabelle Stengers, Alfred North Whitehead, Lynn Margulis and Norbert Wiener. Are there paths, however forked, which lead between the various senses of bifurcation in their work, and lead out of an algorithmically-automated Modernity?

Date and time: 27 November 18:00-19:45; 28 and 29 November 10:15-17:00.

Location: C40.704, Central Building, Leuphana University, Lüneburg
