From this year onwards, Leuphana University is organizing events in the framework of Black History Month.

8pm Film Screening of “Il Moro”, directed by the Black Italian film director Daphne Di Cinto, followed by a q&a with the filmmaker
The film is about an episode of the life of Alessandro de' Medici, an Italian of African descent and member of the Medici family who became the first Black duke of Florence in the 16th century, and about his relevance for Black Italians today. It has been longlisted for the Oscars.
