What impact does the current development in artificial intelligence have on production? How must industry and society rethink production? In his inaugural lecture, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Florian Stamer will derive three key hypotheses for production management arising from the age of cognitive automation – from both a teaching and an application perspective.

Florian Stamer has been Professor of Production Management at the Institute for Production Engineering and Systems (IPTS) at Leuphana University since July 2025. He combines artificial intelligence methods with established production and quality management to optimize material and energy consumption as well as costs in circular value chains. In doing so, he links technological innovation with the responsible design of sustainable production systems.
