MBA Sustainability Management: Home Coming Day and Title Award Ceremony

2022-09-08 Lüneburg. On 10 September, 26 successful graduates of the MBA programme "Sustainability Management" will be awarded their degrees at a ceremony at Leuphana University Lüneburg. The guest speaker at the event will be Lüneburg's Lord Mayor Claudia Kalisch. She herself once helped to set up the programme as a research assistant and later earned the MBA degree in Sustainability Management at Leuphana in 2008.

The day before, the traditional Home Coming Day will begin for former graduates with a specialist conference on the topic of "Resilience - Facing Crises Powerfully". Experts from companies and civil society are invited to give keynote speeches, including the neuroscientist Prof. Dr. Maren Urner and the Chair of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB), Dr. Christine Lemaitre, who will be connected virtually.

Other programme items of the Home Coming Day offer former and current graduates the opportunity to exchange ideas and expand their networks. Among the alumni registered this year are sustainability managers from companies such as Lufthansa, ThyssenKrupp and Katjes.

Background:

With the MBA Sustainability Management, the world's first university MBA on sustainability management and corporate social responsibility (CSR) was introduced in 2003. It is aimed at committed personalities who want to make a career leap and combine this step with sustainability topics in a professionally sound manner. Across all business management topics, the programme always deals with the question of how sustainability can be implemented in a business context.

Interested students have until 30 September to apply for the 20th year of the programme. Further information is available at www.leuphana.de/mba-sustainament.
