Continuing education programme "Sustainability in sports organisations" launched

2022-10-26 Lüneburg/Hamburg. In July of this year, SPONSORs, a leading B2B service provider in sports business, and Leuphana University Lüneburg launched the new joint continuing education programme "Sustainability in Sports Organisations". The first cohort of the sustainability programme, supported by the German Football League (DFL) as a partner and co-initiator, has now started work.

From 24 to 26 October, the first cohort will complete its first module at the Centre for Sustainability Management (CSM). The 50 participants will learn about the basics and approaches of sustainability management in sports organisations. The fully booked first class includes not only employees from the three highest divisions in German professional football. Representatives from the Liqui Moly Handball Bundesliga, market research as well as consulting and marketing are also taking part.

Not only the interesting composition of the participants makes the premiere of the new sustainability programme something special, but also the top-class lecturers. The first module will be taught by the programme leader and sustainability expert Professor Dr. Stefan Schaltegger from Leuphana, Esin Rager, Vice-President of FC St. Pauli and Managing Director of Samov, the former track and field athlete and Olympic athlete Steffen Brand and Ben Weinberg, Senior Manager Sustainability at the German Football League.
