Lower Saxony – Scotland Tandem Fellowship Programme 2023
2023-05-26 The European Centre for Advanced Studies (ECAS) is pleased to welcome twelve outstanding young scholars who have been selected to participate in the prestigious Lower Saxony - Scotland Tandem Fellowship Programme in 2023.
The funding programme is financed by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK) and organised by ECAS, a joint research institution of Leuphana University Lüneburg and the University of Glasgow (Scotland). It facilitates cross-border cooperation in science and research, strengthens the reputation of both regions as producers of excellent knowledge in a European context, and at the same time forges closer links between the participating institutions.
Following the recently closed application phase for postdoctoral researchers and PhD students from renowned higher education institutions in Lower Saxony and Scotland, the selection committee has decided to support the following six tandems, which submitted the most exceptional joint research proposals, with fellowships:
- "quantumTANGO: Quantum Information with Top Quarks and Higgs Bosons"
Steffen Korn (Georg-August-Universität Göttingen) and Dr Jonathan Jamieson (University of Glasgow)
- "Detection of bioanalytes using a novel 3D printed sensor technique"
Dr Kort Bremer (Leibniz Universität Hannover) and Dr Lourdes Alwis (Edinburgh Napier University)
