School Conference: New perspectives for schools

2024-11-21 At the Community School Conference "Shaping Schools - Changing Perspectives" at Leuphana, education stakeholders discussed the schools of tomorrow.

Lüneburg. Changing perspectives and gaining new insights for the schools of tomorrow. This was the topic of the Community School Conference of the Leuphana Innovation Community on School Development and Leadership on November 14. Almost 50 representatives from schools, administration and research, as well as non-school stakeholders, engaged in intensive discussions about the future of school education.

In the keynote speech, Ulrike Sippel from Hacker School gGmbH and teacher Kirstin Koch from IGS Winsen-Roydorf reported on their successful cooperation. The content was a programming crash course for ninth grade, guided by inspiration from the business world. Ulrike Sippel: "Every student should have programmed a line of code before graduating from school." Only in this way could young people gain a first insight into IT professions, which many would otherwise have no contact with. "This is a great example of how multi-professional collaboration in schools can succeed," says organizer Lisa Hofmann, Community Manager of the Leuphana Innovation Community School Development and Leadership.

In three workshops, participants used role play to develop perspectives for a "good school," built the school management of the future using Lego Serious Play, and exposed the blind spots in the digital transformation of schools.

New communication platform: Innomatch

In addition, the Innovation Community presented its new communication platform. Innomatch, a platform of the state of Lower Saxony, now enables school administrators, teachers, and employees of EdTech companies or extracurricular education to network with scientists who are researching topics such as school development, leadership, inclusion, or digitization in schools.
