AI, chatbots, Android: Pupils try out computer science at Leuphana
2025-09-02 Lüneburg. On September 9, the Lüneburg Forum for Computer Science in Schools (LÜFINS) is hosting Computer Science Day at Leuphana University of Lüneburg. Pupils in grades 8 to 13 will have the opportunity to “try out computer science” in various workshops.
The Institute for Information Systems at Leuphana has put together an interesting program. In five workshops, the young people will deal with topics such as web design, chatbots, and artificial intelligence. The event will open with a lecture by Prof. Dr. Ricardo Usbeck. He asks: “Who will tell the stories of tomorrow?”
Leuphana is committed to promoting young talent in computer science, and not just on Computer Science Day: it also supports the digital empowerment of young people through the Data Club Lüneburg. This joint project, coordinated by Leuphana, brings together stakeholders in computer science education with young people, offers school concepts, and aims to give young people an easy introduction to the world of IT.
NOTE FOR EDITORS:
Computer Science Day will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the Leuphana campus on Universitätsallee. We cordially invite you to attend the event and report on the pupils' experiences. The workshop results will be presented from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Lecture Hall 3.
