Study prevention and health promotion alongside your career

2025-10-07 Lüneburg. Developments such as demographic change, the rising number of chronically ill people and increasing pressures in the world of work are bringing issues of prevention and health promotion ever more sharply into focus.

The Professional School at Leuphana University Lüneburg addresses these issues in its part-time Master of Public Health Prevention and Health Promotion programme. It is aimed at specialists and managers in the healthcare sector who want to qualify for positions in occupational health management, health research, health promotion or digital health. It is also suitable for self-employed people who are active in health-related areas such as nutritional counselling, health courses or health education. The next cohort will start in April 2026. Applicants can take advantage of the early bird application option until 20 November 2025 to secure a place on the programme at an early stage. The regular application deadline is 31 January 2026.

The part-time classroom-based programme provides comprehensive knowledge in the areas of prevention, health promotion and health management. Students can specialise in one of two areas: work and organisation or digital health. The programme lasts four semesters and concludes with the internationally recognised title of Master of Public Health.

The part-time programme is based on weekend classroom sessions, which are supplemented by e-learning, thus offering students and lecturers the opportunity for personal exchange and networking. These classroom sessions take place on one to a maximum of two weekends per month. A family-friendly summer break is also planned, as is consideration of public holidays.

The Master's programme is aimed at applicants who have already completed a first academic degree. Prospective students have the opportunity to learn more about the Master's programme during the Professional School's online information day on 7/8 January 2026 or to arrange a personal consultation with programme coordinator Karen Ahrlich (pug@leuphana.de, tel. 04131.677-7958).
