Inhalt: The course is about fundamental concepts of human cognition, methods that foster collaboration, and using scientific evidence in professional applications. It consists of three asynchronous self-study periods and two weekend (Fri, Sat) workshops. We offer office hours during the self-study periods, please join us with any questions or support you might need. We start with an asynchronous reading phase, during which you will engage with the book “The Extended Mind” exploring the power of thinking beyond the brain. This book summarizes cutting-edge neuroscience research about how your body, environment, and social interactions can amplify your thinking, working, and learning. Our interactive workshops bridge theory and practice. We will engage in activities and practices from or related to the theory outlined in the book. Thereby, you will apply and reflect the insights on how thinking (outside the brain) works. In this course, you will link empirical evidence to learning experiences and creatively explore and reflect on how understanding the mind can be utilized in your future profession.
