Allianzen und Fusionen & Akquisitionen (Integrierte Veranstaltung)

Inhalt: Companies need to grow in order to satisfy their constituents. Whereas organic growth strategies are often seen as the more solid, easier to manage but also slower and more arduous variant, external growth is the fast leap forward. It is, however, much more charged with risk and laden with potential failure. In practice, external growth is an indispensable option for managers and often the preferred growth strategy of company executives – mergers and acquisitions have always been, alliancing and networking has emerged as one of the most popular external growth options of the last decades. However, not even every second merger or acquisition can be regarded as success by diverse measures, and almost three out of four alliances fail. The course takes a strategic perspective on external corporate growth strategies, highlights major challenges of M&A as well as alliance strategies and offers management concepts, tools and guidelines to understand and address them successfully.
