Inhalt: Idea: In this seminar participant will be given an overview about economic theories which are developped for the public sector. Didactical concept: During the week until christmas the lecturer will present the selected chapters of the textbook: Basic textbook: Tresch, Richard W. (2008), Public Sector Economics, Basingstoke/New York (Palgrave/Macmillan), chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 18. But all participant should read the selected textbook chapters in advance. This part of the course will be finished with a written examen during the last session before christmas (2015, December, 15th., 45 min.). The second part of the course will be the preparing presentation and writing of one essay concerning of one example. The homepage of the accompaning textbook contains several examples. The example stories are the starting point for the scientific work. They must be improved and enlarged by scientific literature, namely by using international journal articles. The written version of seminar work (exactly 15 text pages) should be uploaded in the material folder, "essays" at least on February 29th, 24.00. Participants can choose an example and presentation by down- and uploading the participation list in the material folder.
