Inhalt: This course covers the basic topics of private international law (or choice-of-law or conflict of laws) with respect to the central issue of the applicable law. Court jurisdiction as well as recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments is left for the complementary part of the class (taught by Prof. Halfmeier).

Inhalt: The course will offer an overview of problems arising with respect to transnational litigation of private law disputes, in particular: Jurisdiction, immunities, taking of evidence, recognition and enforcement, parallel proceedings and arbitration. Note: This semester we will cooperate (through video-conferences) with Tilburg University and various guest speakers.
