Environmental Composition – Composing with the Environment (Seminar)

Inhalt: This seminar will review and analyse music and multimedia works that have a connection with the environment to find out the role environment played in composition. Works from the late 19th century to contemporary will be discussed with a focus on electroacoustic music, soundscape composition, and site-specific multimedia performance. When talking about contemporary works, media technology is regarded as a key factor that changes composer’s perception of the environment.
