Imagination and Organization Studies (Seminar)

Dozent/in: Matthias Wenzel

Termin:
14-täglich | Donnerstag | 16:15 - 19:45 | 06.04.2023 - 07.07.2023 | C 25.021 Seminarraum | Th.K. ok

Inhalt: This seminar is part of the seminar series on “X and Organization Studies”, taking place as elective every summer term. Management and organization studies has recently rediscovered imagination as a key feature of organizational life. Imagination takes place as a broadly shared ‘practice’ of reflecting on the future—a prevalent temporal category that actors in modern organizations refer to when staking out decisions and actions. At the same time, actors in organizations imagine the not-yet as part of their situated, day-to-day ‘praxis’ of organizational activity. In this seminar, we will discuss imagination through a close reading and critique of recent insights into imagination as part of organizational life.
