Advanced Developmental Psychology (Seminar)

Inhalt: This course will focus on the driving forces behind developmental change. Why do children develop in the way they do? Which experiences foster or hinder development? We will put a special focus on the development of social cognition and communication (language). These abilities are fundamental to becoming a healthy and functioning member of society and form the basis for institutionalized learning. Study materials are original empirical papers as well as review articles and meta-analyses.
Advanced Differential Psychology (Seminar)

Inhalt: After a short introduction to meta-analysis as a research method, we will deal with a selection of (published) meta-analyses covering various topics from the (very broad) realm of individual differences.

Inhalt: In this seminar we will read, get to know and deepen our knowledge of classical papers supplemented by recent studies in the field of social cognition. The topics of the individual sessions are deliberately diversified in order to gain insights into as broad a spectrum of different content as possible. Topics may include face perception, automatic processes, comparison processes, automatic imitation, moral dilemmas, stereotypes, and attitudes.
