Inhalt: “European Law” is a course of compulsory lectures that introduces students to the process of European integration through the law. It covers the basic aspects of institutional and substantive law, including the rules of legal protection before the European Court of Justice. The course starts by exploring the nature and impact the supranational nature of the European legal order and its interaction with national legal system. This is a demanding course, and students should be prepared to read and follow up the information in tutorials on European law and integration.

Inhalt: Participants practice the drafting of legal opinions on cases and questions with regard to topics such as: - the European Union and its Member States, in particular the delimitation of competences, - the institutional framework of the European Union, - the fundamental freedoms of the internal market, - state aid and competition rules, - legislative acts of the EU, especially regulations and directives, - infringement action and the preliminary ruling procedure.
