Inhalt: Selected topics of European (product) liability law Case Study: SuperCar (SuCar) As of today you are assistant to Robert Law, Head of Legal, SuCar. SuCar is the top-notch German car manufacturer. Its desirable vintage-, hybrid- e- and lifestyle-cars make them one of the most popular employers in automobile industry. A dream is about to come true, and an exciting future lies ahead of you. It was during your job interview that you met your future boss. He impressed you when he said: “Look, I will not give you text books to read. I will ask real life questions and you will give me your answers – I know you can do that. And that is what you will do with me as of day one.” You liked his approach – direct, open and he was already treating you as a young professional whose advise will be appreciated. Then he explained that right now a couple of liability issues are piling up high on his desk. You were hooked. And now you really want to shift into top gear.

Inhalt: This advanced course focuses on the main components of EU Company Law. We will discuss in turn: the origins and future of European Company Law, the formation of a Societas Europaea, legal aspects of corporate finance, corporate governance and finally, capital markets and takeover regulation. The course is organised around case/document studies and text discussions. All material is to be read at home by all participants, prior to in-class sessions.
