Inhalt: The course introduces students to core concepts and theories in the analysis of political structures and processes, especially (1) the role of the state, the organization of government, political representation of interests and the crisis of democracy, (2) the transformation of the modern state and its substantive, structural and procedural implications for government and politics, and (3) the analysis, implementation and evaluation of public policy and the risk of policy failure.
