Dozent/in: Jürgen Deller

Termin:
wöchentlich | Montag | 08:15 - 09:45 | 04.04.2022 - 08.07.2022 | C 6.026 Seminarraum

Inhalt: This course uses Starting literature: Dowling, Festing, Engle (2017), IHRM (7th ed.). Cengage Learning. (DFE) as starting literature for every topic. The class explores the importance of international business management in the context of international human resource management, including topics on culture, compensation and benefits, international organizations and their structures, international assignment management and the legal and regulatory considerations that global organizations face. This course will help students identify differences in operating a domestic versus and international business and how business practices will need to be adapted to operate successfully in foreign markets. The design of this class is a pilot to answer student calls for integrating an applied side to academic teaching. Therefore, we will pilot a cooperation with the consultancy Ernst & Young Global Limited. EY is one of the largest professional services networks in the world. Roughly 300,000 employees have generated a turnover of 37.2 billion US-$ in 2020. EY will provide insights from their service experience. They will present and are open for discussion. The second element in this scientist-practitioner model of learning will be you in covering the topics of this class. I invite you to include practitioners in your research and teaching as they are practitioner experts for their specific fields. It will be very important to understand their perspectives on our topics, the differences of international vs. domestic HRM, etc.
