wöchentlich | Dienstag | 12:15 - 13:45 | 17.10.2023 - 30.01.2024 | C 11.307 Seminarraum

Inhalt: Important: Course literature are original (psychological) research texts (no textbooks!). You can find all course materials in myStudy ('Material' -> 'Literature for sessions'). The introductory module addresses fundamental questions regarding sustainability-related behavior. The course offers an overview of psychological theorising and empirical findings that aim to understand, explain, predict, and change human behaviour in the context of sustainability. Psychological barriers towards sustainable behaviour are explored and behaviour change interventions are demonstrated to present important levers. The course addresses behaviour at the three levels of analysis (individual, community, societal level). Exemplary topics range from cognitive, emotional, and motivational processes at the individual level, social dilemmas, norms, collective action at the community level, to policy acceptance and political polarization at the societal level. The module aims at enabling students to reflect on theoretical, empirical, as well as applied interventions towards sustainability-related behaviour. The module teaches a comprehensive understanding of sustainability challenges with a specific focus on the human behaviour dimension.
