Inhalt: In this seminar, the potentials of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the audio domain are examined. Taking into account both theoretical perspectives and practical applications, we will discuss how AI-based technologies influence the creation, editing, analysis, and perception of sound and music. Students gain informed insight into current developments and trends in both scholarly discourse and artistic practice. The seminar explores cultural, technological, and aesthetic aspects of AI applications in the audio field, addressing topics such as machine learning in music production, AI-assisted sound synthesis, emotion analysis in music, intelligent sound processing, and the role of AI in sound art. Students acquire hands-on experience by experimenting with various AI tools and platforms and implementing their own small projects. Through discussions, presentations, and group work, they are encouraged to develop their own perspectives and critically engage with the impacts of AI on the audio domain. No prior knowledge of AI or audio technology is required.
