Inhalt: In this seminar, we try to integrate different developments in modern societies, in the past and maybe in the future, e.g. urban planning in the past, car-addicted towns today (Lueneburg) and and smart cities in the future.Other examples are globalized supply chains in the past (Lueneburg / Hanse), today and in the future, bureaucracy (Max Weber) and digitalization (at least in Germany) as an unsolved and stubborn problem, new forms of actions, networks and data storage (blockchains), new forms of knowledge (everyday knowledge, generated in social networks), new societal institutions, e.g. instagram or facebook, new forms of human-computer interactions (or already communication?): generative AI, e.g. ChatGPT,...
