21.01.2025 with Melissa Gregg (University of Bristol) 21.01. / 12 – 2 pm / C40.530 / Climate Futures Talk There is an online option for this event. Please contact Inga Luchs (inga.luchs@leuphana.de) for Zoom access.

The idea of “planetary boundaries” and potential resource “overshoot” has emerged as a key concern in climate and sustainability debates of late, but where does the tech industry stand on these questions? With so much emphasis on achieving Net Zero carbon emissions, is it possible to think more holistically about the relationship between extractive business models and ecological harms? This talk introduces a new perspective - Planetary UX - to revitalize and focus debate about climate futures. It aims to show that users and the planet are equally at risk when energy extraction is an infinite goal.
