Workshops with Pablo Muñoz (Durham University)
19. Sept. - 20. Sept.
Two workshops with Pablo Muñoz on "Co-creating better futures through prospective inquiry" and "Journal of Business Venturing Insights"
1) Thursday, September 19th, 9.00-15.00: Co-creating better futures through prospective inquiry. In this 2-part workshop, Pablo Muñoz will introduce participants to prospective inquiry and the work conducted at Durham’s Social Science Enterprise Lab. In the first part, he will explain the purpose, foundations, and main applications of prospective inquiry and how it is helping social scientists to conduct future-oriented research and scale up the impact of their work. In this second hands-on part of the workshop, we will focus on a central part of the prospective inquiry process: problematization dialogues. Using a playful combination of Lego blocks, constructionism, constructivism, adaptive systems, and prospective inquiry, participants will learn how researchers and practitioners can explore, identify, and map out challenges that are meaningful to both of them as part of a research-practice collaborative work.
2) Thursday, September 19th, 19.00: Joint Dinner (self-paid) @ Brauhaus Mälzer
3) Friday, September 20th, 09.00-11.00 JBVI workshop: In this workshop, Pablo Muñoz will introduce the Journal of Business Venturing Insights, its main features, priorities, and new initiatives. We will explore in detail a new area of development in the journal: science communication. So far, JBVI has published several ground-breaking papers making a very innovative use of visual artifacts. In 2025, the journal will go one step further and open a space for researchers to produce and PUBLISH factual films or short documentaries.
