07. May
Public lecture by Prof. Dr. Florian Unger on the topic of the trade war
- Wednesday, May 7, 2025, 4 p.m.
- Lecture hall 3
- Speaker: Prof. Dr. Prof. Dr. Florian Unger
On April 2, U.S. President Trump announced import tariffs of at least 10 percent on all trading partners. The reaction of other countries such as China with retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods followed promptly. Implementation of this tariff policy could lead to the biggest shock to global trade since the Second World War.
The Institute of Economics invites all interested parties to a lecture on the causes and effects of the U.S. trade war. Beginning with U.S. President Trump's first term in office, current trade policy stands for further escalation through tariff conflicts and a radical departure from multilateral agreements.
The event will discuss the design of U.S. trade policy and highlight the economic impact of the trade war.
The Alumni- und Förderverein der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg e.V. (AFL) is pleased to sponsor the event.
