OF TERRORISTS AND TERRORISM: DISCOURSES, FORMS, AND ACTORS OF POLITICAL VIOLENCE

03. Nov

The Leuphana Center for Cooperative Security invites to a discussion.

The paradigm of terrorism continues to fundamentally shape security governance of the 21st century. But what really is terrorism and how do we distinguish it from other forms of political violence? And to what extent is the category of terrorists as used in public discourse different from such as definition?

Leuphana Center for Cooperative Security invites you to discuss these questions on November 03 2026 from 16:15 to 17:45 at Leuphana University, at the main building in Room C40.256. Everybody is welcome, there is no registration required.

Drawing on her own work and recent dynamics in the Middle East and Europe, Professor Hanna Pfeifer (IFSH Hamburg) joins the Leuphana Center for Cooperative Security in a conversation with Dr. Wolfgang Minatti (Leuphana University) to discuss the differences between terrorism and terrorists and its stakes for our contemporary way of dealing with the phenomenon.
