At the start of the conference, Jennifer Morgan, the German government's special envoy for international climate policy, philosopher Eva von Redecker and journalist Michel Friedman ask themselves how utopian trust is in the face of crises and wars. Youtuber Tilo Jung will talk about "Inequality & Trust" with Moritz Schularick, the internationally renowned President of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.

Conference organiser Sven Prien-Ribcke: "Trust could be the antidote to the authoritarian temptation. The Utopia Conference wants to get to the bottom of trust - with inspiring stage talks in the Libeskind Auditorium and direct dialogue in workshops, thinking spaces and the 'Long Night of Utopias'."

The Utopia Conference will be attended by actress and author Katja Riemann, activist and economist Betiel Berhe, neuroscientist Maren Urner, sociologist Heinz Bude, journalist Ulrike Herrmann and writer Wolfram Eilenberger, among others.

Florence Gaub, Director of Research at the NATO Academy in Rome, is travelling from Rome. Barbara Blaha, founder of the Momentum Institute, is coming from Vienna. Political scientist and artist Liya Yu will also be there. Having just relocated from Taipei to Berlin, she has the term "neuropolitics" in her luggage, which she wants to use to bridge discussion fronts.

The workshops at the Utopia Conference will focus on the most concrete and visionary ideas possible to strengthen social trust. Inequality researcher Martyna Linartas will discuss alternatives to "abundance" with the participants. Computer scientist and philosopher Stefan Ullrich explores how artificial intelligence can be used for a sustainable society. Under the title "Trust is good, confidence is better", filmmaker and journalist Reinhard Kahl brings together practitioners and thought leaders for a good school. Stefan Ruppaner and Maxi Heß, the head teachers of the nationally renowned Alemannen Schule in Wutöschingen and Universitätsschule Dresden respectively, are also on board.

Interested citizens are welcome to take part in the Utopia Conference. Registrations are possible at www.leuphana.de/utopie.
