Leuphana X TUHH – Connecting New Perspectives
The major transformations of our time call for the combined strengths of different academic perspectives and disciplines. TU Hamburg and Leuphana University Lüneburg bring complementary expertise together to create an internationally competitive platform for education, research and innovation—particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, sustainability and technology-enabled transformation. Building on their successful joint proposal for an international Bachelor’s programme in engineering, the two universities will further deepen their strategic collaboration.
Students and researchers can already benefit from joint activities, new opportunities for exchange and the distinctive combination of technological expertise, entrepreneurial thinking and societal transformation competence. At the heart of the partnership is a shared question: how can artificial intelligence and sustainability be not only researched, but actively shaped through innovative technologies, responsible entrepreneurship and interdisciplinary collaboration?
AI Campus Day @ Leuphana
30 October 2026 15.00 -18.00 Foyer of the Central Library, Leuphana Campus
The AI Campus Day brings together students from Leuphana University Lüneburg and TU Hamburg on the Leuphana campus, making the partnership and the wide range of opportunities at the intersection of AI and entrepreneurship tangible. For TU Hamburg students in particular, the event offers an opportunity to discover the Leuphana campus as a space for innovation, exchange and collaborative experimentation. The focus is not only on learning about AI, but on putting ideas into practice. In an interactive, hands-on workshop, participants will develop their own ideas and explore how AI can unlock entrepreneurial opportunities. The day concludes with an informal networking session, creating space for exchange and new connections across institutional boundaries. Further information and registration:

Sustainable Engineering: From Innovation to Impact
TUHH Future Lecture
4 November 2026 17.00 Audimax 2 @ TU Hamburg
Together with Stefan Klebert, CEO of the GEA Group, the Future Lecture will explore one of the defining challenges of our time: How can industry meet the needs of a growing world while using less energy, water and raw materials? Addressing this challenge requires rethinking production—from the design of individual machines to entire industrial systems. More efficient use of resources not only reduces environmental impact, but also strengthens long-term competitiveness.

Change the Game: Nachhaltig denken, unternehmerisch handeln
Lecture by Prof. Jacob Hörisch for Bachelor’s students at Leuphana and TU Hamburg
Starting 6 November 2026 | Four sessions
This course is open to Bachelor’s students from Leuphana and TU Hamburg who want to explore how sustainable entrepreneurship works and how businesses can contribute to sustainable development.
Working in interdisciplinary teams, you will develop your own sustainable business idea using creative methods such as Design Thinking. You will turn this idea into a business model and take initial steps towards implementation—for example by creating a mock-up or prototype. You will also have the opportunity to exchange ideas with an entrepreneur working in the sustainability field and present your project to an expert jury at the end of the semester. The course offers a practical opportunity to address social and environmental challenges through entrepreneurship, meet students from the partner university, and develop hands-on skills in creativity, teamwork, business model development and pitching.
For Leuphana students: This course is part of the Bachelor’s Complementary Studies programme. Further information on dates and registration is available here:

AI Winter School 2026: Navigating Generative AI in Academia and Society
Winter School for Doctoral Researchers at Leuphana and TU Hamburg
1–4 December 2026 | Leuphana Central Building
Generative AI is transforming established ways of working, thinking and producing knowledge. This shift raises important practical, methodological and ethical questions for doctoral researchers and university staff.
The Winter School provides an opportunity to explore the benefits, applications and implications of generative AI in research and society. Through keynote lectures, workshops, serious games and hands-on sessions, participants will engage with the technical, ethical, philosophical and political dimensions of generative AI and reflect on the implications for their own doctoral projects.
Participation is free of charge. Further information and registration:
