One Call
Collaboration in the conceptual design and the production of an interactive transmedia online campaign
ONE ist a lobby- and campaigning organisation on the field of global poverty reduction. In close collaboration with the Moving Image Lab ONE developed a campaign in which actors and musicians well known in Germany (including Katja Riemann, Benno Fürmann, and Bob Geldorf) did appear to call for signing of an online petition adressing the german federal government.
In the individual films that were produced the celebreties would dial a number and make a call. To his astonishment the viewer realises that the number being dialed is actually his own number. While still amazed about this the user would notice his own phone ringing and when picking it up a voicemail of the individual celebrity is to be heard calling for the user for his signature of the relevant petition.
Together with ONE and shift the Moving Image Lab did develop the presettings and demands for the filmscripts and participated in the production of the films. This in particular implied coordinating the various areas of operation like scriptwriting, filmdirection, filmproduction, postproduction, coding, graphic design and technical matters of dissemination.
Through it’s participation and involvement in the entire process of the campaign development the Moving Image Lab was able to gain close insight and understanding of the terms and conditions for viral campaigning on the field of a non-profit civil society subject.
One Call was part of the Lüneburg Innovation Incubator, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the German Federal State of Lower Saxony.
