One Call

Collaboration in the conceptual design and the production of an interactive transmedia online campaign

ONE ist a lob­by- and cam­pai­gning or­ga­ni­sa­ti­on on the field of glo­bal po­ver­ty re­duc­tion. In clo­se col­la­bo­ra­ti­on with the Mo­ving Image Lab ONE de­ve­l­o­ped a campaign in which ac­tors and mu­si­ci­ans well known in Ger­ma­ny (in­clu­ding Kat­ja Rie­mann, Ben­no Fürmann, and Bob Gel­dorf) did ap­pe­ar to call for si­gning of an on­line pe­ti­ti­on adres­sing the ger­man fe­deral go­vern­ment.

In the in­di­vi­du­al films that were pro­du­ced the ce­le­bre­ties would dial a num­ber and make a call. To his as­to­nish­ment the view­er rea­li­ses that the num­ber being dia­led is ac­tual­ly his own num­ber. Whi­le still ama­zed about this the user would no­ti­ce his own pho­ne rin­ging and when pi­cking it up a voice­mail of the in­di­vi­du­al ce­le­bri­ty is to be heard cal­ling for the user for his si­gna­tu­re of the re­le­vant pe­ti­ti­on.

To­ge­ther with ONE and shift the Mo­ving Image Lab did de­ve­lop the pre­set­tings and de­man­ds for the film­scripts and par­ti­ci­pa­ted in the pro­duc­tion of the films. This in par­ti­cu­lar im­plied co­or­di­na­ting the va­rious are­as of ope­ra­ti­on like script­wri­ting, film­di­rec­tion, film­pro­duc­tion, post­pro­duc­tion, co­ding, gra­phic de­sign and tech­ni­cal mat­ters of dis­se­mi­na­ti­on.

Through it’s par­ti­ci­pa­ti­on and in­vol­ve­ment in the ent­i­re pro­cess of the cam­pai­gn de­ve­lop­ment the Mo­ving Image Lab was able to gain clo­se in­sight and un­der­stan­ding of the terms and con­di­ti­ons for vi­ral cam­pai­gning on the field of a non-pro­fit ci­vil so­cie­ty sub­ject.

One Call was part of the Lüne­burg In­no­va­ti­on In­cu­ba­tor, fun­ded by the Eu­ro­pean Re­gio­nal De­ve­lop­ment Fund (ERDF) and the Ger­man Fe­deral Sta­te of Lo­wer Sa­x­o­ny.
