Dozent/in: Kara O'Neil

Termin:
wöchentlich | Montag | 08:15 - 09:45 | 14.10.2024 - 31.01.2025 | C 12.111 Seminarraum

Inhalt: In this seminar we will be focusing on Language: Inclusiveness & Representation. It is our goal to support students during their Leuphana Semester as they explore future interests. In addition, this course will provide a skills-based seminar format to help students acquire an understanding of their professional self. Students will be participating in a research initiative meant to explore “Barriers to learning in your 2nd language – emphasis: in English”. We will develop research questions which encourage the exploration of language as inclusive or exclusive, just or unjust. Discussions will include: work in the (globalized) future and how professionals can adapt to fit into these structures; which roles individuals and organizations have in shaping inclusive, sustainable practices. We will look into how to maintain professional dignity, while identifying issues of sustainable justice and equity. Please note that while this class is taught in English, this is not an English class. It is not the instructors’ intention to grade your English skills, but rather your work in class, to the best of your ability.
