Geochemische Aspekte von Stoffen in der Umwelt und nachhaltige Chemie 1 (Seminar)

Dozent/in: Klaus Kümmerer, Wolf-Ulrich Palm, Mandy Schneider

Termin:
wöchentlich | Mittwoch | 14:15 - 15:45 | 12.10.2015 - 29.01.2016 | C 13.120 Labor
wöchentlich | Montag | 18:15 - 19:45 | 12.10.2015 - 29.01.2016 | C 16.203 Seminarraum

Inhalt: Processes governing the fate of chemicals in the environment such as distribution mechanisms, abiotic and biotic transformation and degradation processes of chemicals in water, soil and air will be presented in detail. - Distribution processes and their thermodynamic and kinetic description. Equilibria in environmental chemistry. - Abiotic degradation processes (e.g. photolysis, hydrolysis). - Mobility, distribution and advective transport. - Application of simple box models (Mackay level 1 and 2) - Importance of the sun as energy source. Reactions of reactive species such as the OH-radical in the gas phase and in aqueous solution. - Degradation and transformation of orgnic chemicals by microorganisms - Aerobic and anaerobic processes - Enzymatic reactions, enzyme inhibition, Michaelis-Menten Kinetics - Inhibition of microorganisms by environmental micropollutants - Differences in abiotic and biotic degradation - Enviromental biotechnology: Wastewater treatment, biogas - Determination of LogKOW and LogD
